Scheduled maintenance- Maintenance is most important for the longevity of your motorcycle. Recommended maintenance to be performed is not a “one size fits all.” Specific work performed varies by year, model and mileage. Please call for specifics to your situation, we can provide a list of work to be completed that corresponds to your current mileage.

Tire Change- On the bike or off the bike. Cast, chrome or spoke, wide or skinny rims, we change them all. We’ll mount the new tire and then it will be spin balanced on our computerized balancer.

Oil Change- Keep it fresh. You have a choice of chrome or black filters, synthetic or petroleum oil. Schedule ahead and we’ll do this while you wait.   Synthetic or Petroleum- Seems like such a simple question. The answer a little more involved. What type of riding do you do? Long hauls or short blasts? How often do you change your oil? Are you strict about your scheduled maintenance or you can’t remember the last time it was changed? Synthetic is superior when it comes to thermal break down, keeping the motor at a cooler running temperature, and is formulated for outstanding wear protection under extreme conditions. Petroleum has its advantages too. The oil we know as regular 20/50 is actually part synthetic. Most obvious is the price, which is significantly less than a quart of synthetic. Petroleum is able to absorb moisture better than a full synthetic. If you don’t run your bike long enough to get the oil to 212 degrees Fahrenheit so condensation can evaporate, the petroleum oil is more forgiving. Which is best for you would depend on your specific riding situation.

 

Engine Rebuilds- Motor rebuilds become necessary for many reasons. Damage caused by normal wear, hard riding, or high mileage to name a few. Base gaskets can leak over time and tappets can wear out. We’re equipped with a machine shop in house to perform all phases of engine rebuilding.

Transmission Rebuilds- Freedom Cycle offers expert transmission service for all v-twin 4, 5 and 6 speed transmissions. Whether your seals are leaking, it won’t shift, or you bring the parts to us in a box in pieces, we are experienced and able to repair and rebuild your transmission correctly, the first time.

Welding-We can weld steel or aluminum. We can also weld cast iron with a nickel rod or by brazing. Tig welding, or heli-arc welding, is our preferred method for welding aluminum and thin sheet metal.  

Mig welding is faster and easier for welding frames and brackets. The sportster frame in the picture shown below was cut and stretched, than a new wider cross member was welded back in place.

 

Insurance Repairs- If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate situation when you need damage to your bike repaired, we are well experienced with writing estimates and working with insurance adjusters. We'll keep your aggravation minimal. Our goal is to get your ride repaired as quick as possible to get you back on the road.

 

 

Warranty Work- Freedom Cycle is an authorized service center for Harley Davidson extended warranty service plans. We are also authorized to perform Big Dog Motorcycles original factory and extended warranty plans.
